Jay Korff-The winning entry showcased quality shooting and solid storytelling. But on the whole, this category was disappointing. In fact, the top station in the small market would have clearly beaten the top two selections in this category.

Joel Eagle-The overall quality that you would expect to see on a Station of the Year entry tape was missing in this category. Even the winning entry underwhelmed me. There certainly was some quality work here, but the staff really needs to work on honing their storytelling skills. After the winning entry and the runner up, there was a steep drop off.

Regina McCombs-The medium-sized markets could take their cue from some of the smaller markets, where we saw more consistently good work. There were high points on several tapes but little that showed up on a regular basis.

Stephanie Ottjepka-Comments to come.

Erica Simpson-I was disappointed in the quality of all the entries in this category.  I strongly feel that the staff at the winning station still has a lot to learn technically and stylistically.

Mark Morache-This category could have been stronger. The high points were high, but the low points were very low. A number of entries could have been stronger if they had left three or four stories off of the tape. Many stories could have been better if they cut to the chase a little sooner and had not meandered with long, flowery beginnings.
